The National Steel Car began in 1912 as the Imperial Car Company, which later became the National Steel Car Company. It started with the manufacture of wood coaches which were followed by steel cars. Greg Aziz infused new life into the firm with his enthusiastic and energetic leadership. In a short time, the company was manufacturing over 12,000 rail coaches every year. This was a phenomenal increase from just 3,500 coaches which were produced each year previously. He also made the executive decision to expand the company’s workforce, from 500 to 3000 employees.
National Steel Car has been the recipient of several honors over the years. It has the rare distinction of winning the TTX Supplier Evaluation Committee and the ISO:90001 2008 awards for a consecutive 18 times.
